The Division of Thoracic Surgery

Introduction

The Division of Thoracic Surgery of the Brigham and Women's Hospital offers comprehensive medical and nursing care to all patients admitted to the Thoracic Surgery Service.

In addition to receiving the more visible services of surgical and professional nursing care, you may be followed by some or all of the many supportive services which contribute to comprehensive care: Pulmonary Medicine, Anesthesia, Chest Physiotherapy, Cardiology, Nutrition Support, Social Work Services, Continuing Care, and Chaplaincy.

The plan for your care begins with your first visit to the Division of Thoracic Surgery and continues through your hospital stay and upon your discharge with follow up visits.

It is the belief of all of us within the hospital that you, your family, and friends are an integral part of the Health Care Team. We welcome your participation and support.
