The Division is actively involved in clinical and basic research. Findings related to these activities are regularly presented at national and international thoracic surgical society meetings, as well as the American College of Surgeons. Additionally, the Division is well published in peer-review journals devoted to the thoracic sciences. The primary focus of our research is in lung transplantation, gene discovery in lung cancer and mesothelioma, and multi-institutional prospective clinical trials.
