Biography

Dr. Jaklitsch received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University and his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He is board certified in Surgery and Thoracic Surgery. He trained in thoracic surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital and the University of Minnesota. He has done research at the National Institutes of Health on angiogenesis and gene transfer. He joined the Division in 1997, and is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Jaklitsch's areas of interest include the unique needs of the elderly cancer patient and the extended use of video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS).
